The final month arrived quickly.
I felt torn between my old life on Earth and this fragile, beautiful world. I knew I couldn’t simply enjoy the last days and disappear.
One evening, as I watched the chocolate river barely moving, an idea struck me.
Instead of eating more, I would give something new.
I rushed to Truffles. “They think the only thing a human can offer is their own soul,” I said. “But I can offer something else — contrast.”
I explained my plan.
Candaria didn’t need more sweetness. It needed a break from it. Something savoury. Something simple. Something from Earth.
Truffles was unsure. “Salt is foreign here. It is the opposite of sugar.”
“Exactly,” I replied. “Without contrast, sweetness loses its power.”
The Council agreed to let me speak to the King and Queen.
Standing once again in the Glaze Citadel, I made my request.
“Give me one day,” I said. “One chance. If I fail, I accept my transformation.”
After a long silence, King Icing agreed.
“You have until sunrise.”
CURIOUS TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT....
STAY TUNED FOR KNOWING ABOUT THIS
UNTIL THEN GOOD BYE
