After meeting the Council of Crumbs, my life in Candaria changed completely.
Food no longer felt like joy alone. Every bite felt heavy with responsibility.
In public, I still acted like the happy human visitor. I attended royal feasts and smiled while tasting desserts during the daily Sundae of the Solstice held on the highest rock-candy peak.
But in private, I began to control myself.
I counted how much I ate. I chose lighter sweets. I stopped tasting everything just because it was offered.
This was hard — Candaria was a world made for overeating.
I started walking through places most visitors never saw. I saw candy hills turning into dry crumbs. I saw bread-pudding mountains collapsing into grey dust. Near the Licorice Root was the Fudge Fault Line,
A deep crack where cocoa had been completely drained.
I became friends with the locals.
Gingie, a cheerful ginger snap, once asked me, “Why do you eat so little now, Sweet Guava? Isn’t sweetness the point of living?”
I smiled and replied carefully, “Sometimes waiting makes the next bite better.”
Truffles met me often in secret.
“Time is running out,” he warned me one night. “If you fail, you will become a Rainbow Rock Candy Obelisk, placed at the Fudge Fault Line to stop the land from breaking apart.”
Then he explained the deeper problem.
Candaria had too much sweetness and nothing else.
“It’s like eating only dessert every day,” Truffles said. “Even joy needs contrast. And only you remember flavours beyond sugar.”
DEAR GUAVA FRIENDS,
WISHING YOU A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR
NEXT CHAPTER IS WAITING FOR YOU......
STAY TUNED.......
